Legal Services Coordinator

Nicole was born in Los Angeles, where her parents first met after immigrating to the U.S. from Guatemala. She attended Middle Tennessee State University, where she studied for a year in Japan. Upon her return, she felt a need to connect to her community more in South Nashville, where she had grown up. She interned for TIRRC in 2017 and tutored Spanish speaking adults preparing for the GED exam for over a year. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in International Relations, Nicole taught Spanish to middle schoolers and adults though the Tennessee Language Center. Nicole came on staff in 2019. Fluent in Spanish and English, she uses her language skills and skills in direct engagement with individuals to identify needs and provide referrals to community members as well as crisis support for those that call the TIRRC hotline. She provides support for the rest of the services team with the legal clinics and programs TIRRC provides for the community.
