OCTOBER 19, 2017

On Wednesday night, large crowds gathered at vigils in NashvilleKnoxville, and Chattanooga on the day the Trump administration's third attempt at a Muslim Ban was set to go into effect. Former refugees, those affected by the ban, and faith leaders joined together to say #NoMuslimBanEver and #RefugeesWelcome, while celebrating the court rulings that blocked Muslim Ban 3.0 from going into effect.

Our community in Tennessee has an important role to play in beating back these policies. Because long before Donald Trump was president, Tennessee was the testing ground for anti-refugee and anti-Muslim legislation. And Tennessee is where white nationalists have chosen to come after Charlottesville; they're planning "White Lives Matter" rallies in Shelbyville and Murfreesboro next weekend to protest refugee resettlement.

Next week, there are two important opportunities to stand up for refugees and against white supremacy in Murfreesboro. Will you join us?
