Lisa was born in Nashville and raised in Guatemala. She came on staff in October 2015. Prior to joining TIRRC, Lisa was the Advocacy Officer at Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict, a network of human rights and humanitarian organizations. Lisa led advocacy for Watchlist at the United Nations Security Council in New York. Previously, she was a researcher based in Senegal on West Africa at Amnesty International, where she was responsible for investigating, advocating, and campaigning to end human rights violations in the region. She was also a campaigner based in London at Amnesty International covering health and human rights issues. Lisa holds a Master’s degree in Conflict, Security, and Development from the Department of War Studies at King’s College London. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
