Legal Clinics Coordinator

Jorge was born and raised in Guatemala City and came to Nashville to study at Vanderbilt University. The recipient of two research fellowships, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and history. Jorge found his passion for helping immigrants and refugees become civically engaged while canvassing with TIRRC and TIRRC Votes during the 2018 elections.

Prior to joining TIRRC’s staff, Jorge worked in legal services building and maintaining relationships with the private bar to provide pro bono services to marginalized communities. Jorge runs TIRRC’s family emergency planning workshops, naturalization clinics, and our New Americans Campaign innovation project for naturalization.
