A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Jacob received his BA in Political Science with a minor in International Relations from East Carolina University, where he studied Reagan era immigration reform and the EU’s response to the influx of refugees sparked by the Arab Spring. Prior to joining TIRRC in October of 2017, Jacob worked in numerous roles that prepared him for his current work. He organized for congressional candidates that include a first generation American and an immigrant child of Jewish refugees from the Soviet Union. He also fundraised for nonprofits serving immigrant communities and campaigned for the U.S.'s foreign aid budget. As the Policy Manager, Jacob works to advance TIRRC’s local and federal policy agenda and engage community members about different policies.
