Eva is a social scientist born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. She earned her Bachelor and Master of Arts in Sociology at the Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), in Murfreesboro. She previously lived and worked in Montreux, Switzerland where she learned French before immigrating to Nashville, which she now considers her home away from home. In addition to English and French, she is also fluent in Swahili and Kikuyu.
Prior to joining TIRRC in the summer of 2019 as Census Manager, Eva worked as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant, as well as an HIV/AIDS Research Project Manager. She is a committee member of Davidson County’s Complete Count Committee, as an advocate for immigrant participation and inclusion in the 2020 US Census. Eva is passionate about empowerment through civic engagement.
