Capacity Building Program

As a grassroots coalition, TIRRC is only as strong as its member organizations. We recognize that your organizations play a key role in integration of immigrants and refugees in Tennessee, and as part of our mission we strive to be a resource to you, to understand your needs and help you become more effective resources and advocates for your communities. We are therefore very pleased to announce the launch of TIRRC’s new capacity building program for member organizations starting in January 2010. This program is designed to strengthen our member organizations through a comprehensive approach that include three main components:

  • „  Resources and referral for very specific, urgent or other short-term needs that may be  by TIRRC staff or referred to outside resources (e.g. Center for Nonprofit Management) Timeline: ongoing.
  • „  Regular group training for long-term needs shared by a number of members (e.g. fundraising, communications, board development, etc). Timeline: Four half-day or full-day workshops per year, irst topic to be fundraising in mid-Feb, looking for input on future topics
  • „  Capacity building mini-grants and peer exchange $500-1500 awarded on a competitive basis, accompanied by participation in peer exchange with other grantees; first round of applications to be distributed in mid-Feb, first grants to be awarded in Mar-Apr.

If you or your organization would like to participate in one of TIRRC’s upcoming capacity building workshops, or you would like to request specialized support,  contact Lindsey at 615-833-0384 ext. 102
