Municipal 2015 Election Calendar

In 2015, cities and counties across the state will elect new mayors, city council-members, and commissioners. Major cities like Memphis and Knoxville will elect new mayors while Nashville will elect a new mayor, 5 new at-large city councilmen, and many other new city councilmembers.

August 6th is election day in Coffee, Davidson, Franklin, Gibson, and Greene County! Many races for mayor and city council seats will be decided by just a few votes - one of them could be yours! Below is some information about voting and engaging in the election that you might find helpful. If you have any questions or would like any additional resources, please call our election hotline at 615.414.1030.

Don’t forget your Photo ID! By law, voters are now required to present a state- or federally-issued photo ID in order to vote. College student IDs, issued from a state school, will not be accepted. For more information about the new Photo ID law, click here.

Help get out the immigrant vote! TIRRC is looking for volunteers to support our efforts to engage New American voters in the election this year. Through door-to-door canvasses, phone banking, poll-watching and events, volunteers will engage with Nashville’s diverse immigrant community in conversations about the importance of voting, how to vote, and issues of importance to the immigrant community. Call or email Eben Cathey at eben@tnimmigrant or 615-833-0384 to learn more.
