COVID-19 and how we're meeting this moment

Together, we’ve made it through another season during one of the most significant moments in our history. Like you, we didn’t know what COVID-19 would bring or what the long-term impact would be to our communities, but we knew we had to do something. Through your generosity and our service team’s hard work, we’ve been able to accomplish so much, during such an uncertain time.

In partnership with the Metro Health Department, we’ve vaccinated 2,000 community members and co-hosted five vaccine clinics at our new TIRRC building and other community centers. We’ve hosted Facebook Live panels with medical professionals and community leaders in multiple languages, such as Swahili, Arabic and Spanish. We’re organizing to ensure our communities are represented in Tennessee’s effort to combat COVID-19.

“The day I got vaccinated at TIRRC was really meaningful to me, not only because I was given the opportunity to do it with my new TIRRC family as part of the staff but also for my parents,” said Arturo Salomon. “Their age makes them more vulnerable to get COVID and even if they are vaccinated I wanted to make sure I was too so they had less chances of getting COVID. Once TIRRC offered me this opportunity I was thankful because I knew I was creating a safer environment for my parents once I was vaccinated.”
